It was established in 1969 ( As Bangladesh Technical) - PBD Class-1 enlisted, in 1980 REB Line construction enlisted, 2007 ( As AB Power Engineering ) Partnership Company. In 2014 AB Power Engineering Ltd. enlisted as a Group of companies - comprising three companies (AB Power Engineering Ltd, AB Garments Accessories Ltd, and AB Pharma).

Engineer M I Mazumder (Associate member of the Institute of Engineers and former GM of REB\PBS) is the founder and Managing Director of this Company. At present Mr. Anisuzzaman is the Managing Director of this company. Retired REB\PBS Senior General Manager Mr. Golam Mortoza is the Chairman of AB Group.
